Great staff, clean rooms, secure/safe building and great location. The staff was very helpful and nice. The room, and overall building, was very clean and organized. I really liked how secure the building was since there are a lot of homeless people wondering in the area. You need your key to access the lobby. Once you're in the lobby, you'll need the key again to access the stairs, access the floor where your room is at and finally your room. Their security is on point and it really gives you peace of mind as a traveller, especially if you're not used to large cities with lots of homeless people. I stayed at the Samesun Montreal the week before my stay in Toronto and their security was pretty bad (lots of homeless people outside the hostel and anyone can just walk into the building, I had some unpleasant moments in the lobby while trying to eat lunch). This was not the case in Samesun Toronto. Very well managed hostel. Location is great since you can walk to downtown and get to the train/busses fairly easy. I would definitely recommend staying at Samesun Toronto.

Bed was pretty comfy for a hostel bed, each bed has a curtain that can be pulled round for extra privacy. All beds have a small unit with a light + several plug sockets that are very handy. Large lockers in rooms and luggage storage avilable for anything that wont fit. Showers are hot and powerful with free-to-use toiletries. Clean towel everyday too for free. Great location in the heart of Kensington Market, plenty to do very close by. Staff were really friendly and helpful if you need anything or have any questions. Has a good, friendly vibe and the local area has great atmosphere and nightlife. Simple free breakfast is provided between set hours. Kiitchen open all the time, plenty of seats in there too. Overall great value for money and I would stay there again.

I stayed in a private room. It was a decent size, bed was comfy, and the desk and side tables were a nice touch and not always to be expected in a private hostel room! The shared bathroom facilities were always clean and never seemed busy during my February stay. Staff were helpful. Had a hairdryer I could borrow, and space to leave bags. Breakfast was decent for a hostel - bagels, spreads, cereals, and things for oatmeal. And coffee and tea of course. Neighbourhood was cool, a bit of noise from the street but nothing too crazy. Earplugs were provided but I didn't need them. It's not a 4* hotel room, don't be mistaken, but as a private hostel room it was very good.

Samesun Toronto was a lot better than I expected. It's like a deluxe hostel. The interior was stylish. The dining room had painted pictures of Toronto & Canadian icon symbols. The breakfast buffet has a good selection of cereals and the bagels are very delicious. My bed was comfortable, so I slept well. Body soap, hair shampoo and conditioner are supplied in the showers. This is the kind of hostel that everybody would like to stay at.

Great value for the money, good location (20 mins walk to downtown core or there’s a street car stop right next to the building), lots of cafes in the area, comfortable room, clean, staff was great, basic breakfast included (coffee/tea, cereals, bagels and waffles with jam, apples), storage room where you can leave your luggage, AC and balcony in the room, we got one with the downtown view and we loved it
